The first-ever Lake Tahoe Snowkite Demo Day is scheduled from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on March 8 at Mt. Rose Meadows. The event is sponsored by Tahoe Mountain Sports, Ozone and Slingshot; participants will have the chance to try new gear, get free lessons and talk to other snowkiters from around the region.
For those new to snowkiting, start with an introduction to snowkiting group lesson then put up a trainer kite and start practicing. Experienced snowkiters can try out the latest and greatest kites like the Ozone Access XC, Frenzy, and Manta and the Slingshot Ranger and hopefully some Revs. There will be an advanced snowkite clinic with Ozone Team Rider Ken Lucas. The cost for this will be $50 for a two hour clinic and preregistration is required.
The entire event is free and open to the public although participants must sign a liability waiver before using any equipment. For more information and directions to Mt. Rose Meadows go to www.TahoeMountainSports.com.
