This year Ozone decided to start their adventure in one of the most picturesque locations in Italy.

24-30 January Mount ETNA
21-28 February Abruzzo
12-15 March CSC Passo Giau
19–22 March Chasta Kite4freedom Clinic

Press Release: Mount Etna will host in fact the start of our CHASTA DAYS 09 from the 24th to the 30th January! We first kited on Etna (an active stratovolcano on the east coast of Sicily, close to Messina and Catania) in 2007 together with Nicholas and the Ovindoli snowkite team! The place is absolutely mind-blowing, a free snowpark surrounded by snow, sea and white smoke which  spews from the mountain most of the time. You wouldn’t want to miss such a show I can assure you!! This is a freeride event open to everyone to discover one of the most astonishing snowkite locations in Europe and in the World.

After this amazing start we will be moving on to the Abruzzo mountain range between the 21st – 28th February. We will ride the snowy plateaus of Roccaraso, Campo Imperatore and the Rocche which are immersed in the biggest European nature reserve. Chasta and other international riders will be happy to surf and discover new spots with their brand new Frenzy FYX, Manta II and Access XC.

From March 12th-15th will be back in the beautiful Dolomites at the renowned spot of Cortina D’Ampezzo together with Michele Ali’s and his KITE4FREEDOM team for the even more famous Cortina Snowkite Contest 09 where riders from all over Europe will compete and show off the tricks they would have practiced for most of the winter. Together with the SNOWKITE MASTERS and the CSKC event, this is certainly one of the most popular snowkite events in Europe.

Last but not least Chasta has organised a cutting edge Snowkite clinic for freeride and backcountry at the same spot in Cortina between the 19th-22nd March.

However the fun does not stop here, in fact in between one event and the next our team will be travelling around Italy surfing all the spots we can find and discovering new ones in both the Alps and Appennines.
Simon’s GOOFREERIDE SCHOOL has been the first one in Italy to organize courses and camps of Backcountry freeride in the biggest snowpark in Europe, a plateau 36km long. For more information please check

Not far from there, in Roccaraso, you can also find the snowkite school WITHE SEA owned and run by our snowkite pioneer Niccolò De Simone, his school is situated in between three wide plateaus where he takes his students according to the wind conditions. There you can easily snowkite between November and April included! Check out

Another beautiful spot, only 2 hours from Rome, is Ovindoli where you can find the passionate Max di Ponzio with his HOBBIT SNOWBOARD & OVINDOLI KITE TEAM. Max, a snowboard veteran uses the kite on the snow since 2000 when together with his paragliding friends he understood the potentiality of this discipline, although initially carried out to have as much fun as possible! Now his school is run by the professional Nicolas who takes people snowkiting in Ovindoli and at Capanna Brin, a mountain hat at 2000m above sea level where you can have the most amazing freeride experience, for more info check

New entry this year of the OZONE snowkite team in Italy is Alessandro Schiavina with his snowkite school ATRACTION located in the region of Emilia Romangna at mount Cimone. He also operates a RENT TO FLY by Ozone scheme at his school at Pian Cavallaro. Please check

And if that was not enough we also have two schools in the Umbria region, famous for its wine and culture, a good compromise that could please the whole family. Here you can find and Enrico will be happy to show you around the most beautiful and charming spots of central Italy
