Kite Soldiers Event 2009
This year’s Kite Soldiers is a three day celebration, Kite Soldiers ‘09: Feb 20-22 2009, showcasing several Events that aspire to reflect the current state of affairs in this constantly evolving sport called Snowkiting. Kite Soldiers ‘09 will have the first EVER Kite Poker Run….Idaho’s first snowkite terrain park…. “Huck a Bus”…..raffles……prizes….. a Downwind Shuttle Bus…..a Welcome party….an Awards party and lots of snowkiting! Last year, Kite Soldiers woke up this small ski town… this year we are taking over!
Details:
Contestants will navigate their way through a series of checkpoints leading riders to the top of Mt. Soldier. Choose from three card draw (beginner) and five card draw (intermediate/advanced) At each checkpoint, contestants will receive their poker card. At the end of the course, contestants with the best hands will receive Kite Soldiers trophy’s and prizes, including a Head Snowboard, Head skis, 7 meter kite, Dakine roller bags, harnesses and other great stuff.
Kite Soldiers will also be revealing Idaho’s first backcountry terrain park. The park will bode the industries newest rail designs, jumps and showcase some of the world’s best riders. A rail jam will be held on Friday with prizes. This park is for everyone to enjoy!
A shuttle bus will provide kiters with a 6 mile downwind shuttle service every day. Also new this year will be our “Huck a Bus” where professional kiters will road gap a bus at the Event site in order to promote Saturday nights awards party at Soldier Creek Brewery. Location: Fairfield, ID
