All camps offer half board accommodations in mountain huts, pensions or hotels, professional Snowkiteguides, Test- and rental kites from Ozone, Party, BBQ etc. It’s all sorted just turn up. You will learn how to use the terrain and the mountains with your snowkite. At some camps you’ll be able to ride and learn from snowkite legend Chasta and Ozone Top Snowkiters Sigve Botnen and Kari Schibevaag. Everyone can always learn something so information is given when requested or needed.  At the end you will be able to climb mountains with the kite, pack it on top and freeride down. Also complete beginners can learn from qualified snowkite instructors to get step by step into this exiting sport. Head man Dominik Zimmermann who brings more than 10 year of experience to the sport will ensure that you will have an adventure you’ll never forget.

Chasta Snowkite Camps

Boarder Patrol’s Snowkite Camps are freewheeling adventures chasing the wind around the Southern Alps.  We’ll pick you up at the airport on day 1 and deliver you back completely windblown on the last day.  In between we’ll either stay in remote mountain huts where the kiting is right outside the door, or in Queenstown or Wanaka where we have access to the region’s nightlife.  We have endless miles of flat and rolling terrain for beginners and freestyle sessions as well as steeper bowls and ridges to challenge those with more experience looking to push their limits.

The week will start with an opportunity to tune and transform the various kiting rigs for optimum use on the snow.  The first session will be getting to know the terrain and riding abilities of the group.  The camp is all about maximum progression for each person and having a blast.  Ozone will be supplying demo gear including a range of 2010 kites just released! You’ll have the opportunity to try different kites and rigs and find what works best for your style of riding.  Each day we will assess the conditions and pick terrain and missions appropriate to the various levels of riding within the group. The camp is open to beginners through to experienced snowkiters.

Located in the heart of the Southern Alps, our camp will take advantage of close proximity to New Zealand’s number one snowkiting spot at Snow Farm.  Ideal terrain for beginners through advanced riders and consitent winds converge to create the most consistent conditions in the country.  More advanced terrain exists in the adjacent Pisa Range and in wind directions unfavorable to this area there are a number of other alternatives nearby.  The week will start with an opportunity to tune and transform the various kiting rigs for optimum use on the snow.  The first session will be getting to know the terrain and riding abilities of the group.  The week is all about maximum progression for each person and having a blast.  Chasta and other advanced riders will be on hand to help out with some tips and to demonstrate various techniques. 

Ozone will be supplying some demo gear also so you’ll have the opportunity to try different kites and rigs and find what works best for your style of riding.  Each day we will assess the conditions and pick terrain and missions appropriate to the various levels of riding within the group.  Snow Farm has an ideal setup that caters well to beginners through to advanced riders so no matter what level you are at, you will be challenged but not out of your depth.

As the week progresses there will be opportunites for back country missions and even heli trips for those who are up to it. In the evenings we’ll gather for dinner at the lodge and watch video of the day’s action.   This camp is designed for snowkiters or those who kitesurf already.  After 7 days of total immersion in the world of snowkiting you’ll be amazed at how far you’ve progressed.
